Northwest Missouri State University is one of 183 schools that will be hosting a special event this October to assist future and current college students with filling out their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid.
FAFSA Frenzy will be held Sunday, October 20th from 2 to 4 pm in the B.D. Owens Library of Northwest's Campus.
Director of Financial Assistance, Charles Mayfield, says it is important for students and families to fill out their applications.
"FAFSA is the first step to the financial aid process. The acronym itself is probably one of the most important things. FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Free is the most important word there. It seems like every year we hear from one, maybe two families, that pay somebody to help them complete the FAFSA, complete the financial aid application process. We always try to remind families that's not something that they should ever have to pay for."
